RETURN
Somewhere in the Central Pacific
Where the sun is like a curse. And
each long day is followed by Another
slightly worse, Where powdered
coral lies thicker Like shifting desert
sand, And a soldier dream and
wishes For a fairer cooler land.

Somewhere in the Central Pacific,
Where the water is always blue;
Where the sky is always sunny Give
the devil his due. Where the palm
trees sway gently And the grass is
always green, So level you can see
for miles, But a woman is never seen.

Somewhere in the Central Pacific,
Where the mail is always late. Where
a Christmas card in April Is
considered up to date, Where the
finance flies to Hawaii And comes
back slightly bent. But you never
miss the money Cause you'd never
get it spent.

Somewhere in the Central Pacific,
Where the moonlight is as bright as
day. While above a million stars glitter
Like diamonds in the milky way.
Where the trade winds blow gently
Cooling the tropical night.
But it isn't very romantic
For there's not a woman in sight.
Somewhere in the Central Pacific, Is a
garrison large and strong. Where
duty is too demanding And the tour is
too damn long. Where they are
testing certain weapons, That and
when, you must not tell. Just keep
hoping for a small mistake that will
blow this island to…….!
